Claremont Bank Patients' Group

At Claremont Bank Surgery we are proud to have a patient group who provide us with an insight into the views, thoughts and ideas of our patients.

The group is called Claremont Bank Surgery Patient Participation Group and has been established for 4 years. During this time they have supported the practice in a number of ways such as organising a MacMillan Coffee Morning and establishing a regular Walking Group. Recently they have helped us to produce a patient survey, the results of which you can access by clicking here.

The Claremont Bank Surgery Patient Participation Group meets 3 monthly and currently has 6 members. The Group is a mix of men and women aged between 30 and 88 years old.

To try to obtain wider views the patient group currently has a notice board and a suggestion box in the waiting room. The group would like to hear more from other patients, in particular people with disabilities, young people and those in ethnic minorities. If you would like to be more involved but would find attending meetings difficult please contact Jane Read, the Practice Manager, by telephone on 01743 248244 to discuss how your views can be represented regularly in a way that is convenient to you.

Members of Claremont Bank Surgery Patient Participation Group have experience of a wide range of medical conditions and situations and this knowledge is very valuable in helping us to support specific needs. However they are keen to help bring forward the views of all members of the community and support every patient in having their concerns and comments heard when asked to do so.

The results of the recent patient survey were discussed at the last Claremont Bank Surgery Patient Participation Group meeting on 7th March 2012 and appropriate actions agreed upon.

We agreed to look at ways of improving our communication with patients to ensure all patients are aware of the different avenues available to order and collect repeat prescriptions – this includes promoting the on line prescription request via our secure link on our website. Methods of ordering also include fax, post with SAE for return, in person and or via chemists.

Collections can also be arranged with Chemists and delivery to home or work address if appropriate. Patients can also collect in person, or by SAE postage.

We will make all these routes more obvious within the practice.

For more information about the group please contact Jane Read, the Practice Manager – 01743 248244.
