To book an appointment with either the doctor or nurse, please phone 01743 248244 or call into the surgery. Urgent problems will be dealt with the same day.
You can book appointments online. Please ask initially in person at reception so we can print you off a web registration form, upon requesting a registration form you will be asked to provide two form of ID (passport/license) for proof of identification, and proof of address. Please note this only applies if you are aged 18 or over.
Once you have registered using the information on the form you will be able book appointments online with your GP. You can also order your prescriptions using this system and book your blood test appointments (blood tests are at Princess House).
Please note: If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know in good time so that it may be offered to someone else.
If you have more than one problem to discuss with your GP please ask the receptionist to book you a double appointment.
Emergencies take priority at all times
You can request an appointment with a particular doctor although you may be seen sooner if you are willing to accept the first appointment available. Please ask the reception staff for times of individual surgeries which may vary during the week, and from year to year.
Urgent cases can be fitted in on the same day, especially if you telephone as early as possible, but it should be noted that it may not be possible to fit you in with the doctor of your choice.
From time to time we undertake post-graduate training of doctors (see Training). When booking an appointment we may ask you if you would mind seeing a junior doctor. We would be most grateful if you would assist us in their training. A GP is always at hand to see you as well if necessary.
We run mainly a face-to-face appointment system and this is how the doctors prefer to consult with patients. You should always be able to see a doctor the same day if you feel it is an urgent matter.
If you have a non-urgent issue, which you feel may be dealt with over the phone please try to ring as early as possible in the day and try to resolve it through the receptionist. If necessary, she/he may be able to arrange for a doctor to call you back between 11:30 and 12, but this is not always possible due to the number of calls we get some days. There should always be a doctor on hand to discuss urgent matters.
Call 111: NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
